Embase on BIDS
The BIDS Embase service provides access to the bibliographic Embase database, produced by Elsevier Science Publishers B. V., and covers approximately 3,500 international journals from 110 countries. The following subject fields are covered: drug research, pharmacology, toxicology, clinical and experimental human medicine, health policy and management, public health, occupational health, environmental health, drug dependence and abuse, psychiatry, forensic medicine and biomedical engineering and instrumentation. Nursing, veterinary medicine, psychology and alternative medicine are covered selectively. Data goes back to 1980 and is updated monthly.
Further information and search help are available in the form of BIDS web and telnet userguides, and print guides and handouts in branches.
(Details are available of Windows based OVID client software for PCs which can give an improved Telnet interface)
You can search on the Web or via Telnet, though you must have an ATHENS username and password to do so. Advice is available if the Telnet connection fails.
